Romans 8:31-39 | Can anything separate you from the love of God?

Paul concludes Romans 8 on a crescendo. Having just shared the enormous comfort that is ours in Christ amidst all that we will experience in life, he now celebrates these grand realties. Here he even challenges the whole moral universe with six crucial questions. He asks in light of what God has done for us in Christ, who could possibly do anything to overturn or thwart His great work on our behalf? He answers by telling us: no one! Puritan Richard Sibbes once wrote concerning this passage, “The words are a glorious conclusion and triumph of faith: the conclusion upon all the former particulars in the chapter, and the foundation of all the comforts that follow after, to the end of the chapter. They are as the centre of the chapter. All the beams of heavenly comfort in this divine chapter, they meet, as it were in one, in this short clause, ‘What shall we say then to these things?’” Come rejoice with us as we consider Romans 8:31-39!
