Romans 10:5-21 | Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God

Having moved through Romans 9, having seen the sovereign will and hand of God in salvation, Paul now shows us the heart of a faithful evangelist, the theology that drives a faithful evangelist, and the practice of a faithful evangelist. This passage emphasizes human responsibility, but it is tucked in between two chapters that emphasize God's sovereignty, showing us that these two truths (responsibility and sovereignty) are not at odds with each other. With brokenhearted compassion and Christ-exalting passion, let's prayerfully proclaim the gospel to unbelievers and leave the results to our sovereign God, who brings the dead to life through the word of Christ.
