Romans 16:25-27 | Doxology

In the final verses of his letter (Romans 16:25-27), Paul takes us back to what he wrote in the first chapter. He ends his great letter the way he began it, with a Gospel note. He has come full circle. To God Alone Be the Glory is the great chorus of Paul's heart. This is because he understood that “salvation is of the Lord” (Jonah 2:9) and that the Gospel is “the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek” (Rom. 1:16). Stuart Olyott states, “The closing lines are an inscription of glory. They underline various truths and, like the close of a great symphony, leave a majestic cord sounding in the ears. The music of the epistle does not weakly fade away. The final cord is glorious, satisfying, and memorable.” Join us Sunday as we celebrate the conclusion of our study in Romans: God’s Glorious Salvation!
