The beauty of the incarnation is found in this simple truth: God became flesh. Our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord, has come. He dwelt among us. He revealed His glory, which began at His birth. At the incarnation, we see this: God’s grace to us. How beautiful it is that God has extended grace to us by sending His Son, clothed in swaddling cloths, and laying in a manger, as He would one day pay the punishment for our sins. Oh, what grace we behold at the incarnation of Jesus!

Sin demands a remedy far stronger than sympathy. Sin calls for God’s judgment, and by taking on all aspects of our humanity, except sin, Jesus became the perfect substitute. There was more going on than mere identification with us when Jesus became incarnate. Jesus was made like us to redeem us, “fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people” (Heb. 2:17).

Christmas is the celebration of the love of the Father toward His fallen creation. God is gracious and loving toward those who've sinned against Him; He sent the perfect sacrifice for our sins, Jesus. Our hope & confidence is that through Christ we are saved.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) With the world being turned upside down, there is no other name that saves, no other name that heals, no other name we need. What is that name? Jesus. Holy is the name!
